Verilog AMS extracton issue

Hi,

I have written a simple verilog ams code but while extracting the verilog ams code I am getting a error like

*Error* eval: unbound variable - _simOneStepXmvlog

Please let me know how to reasolve this one.

It always helps if you give the version of Virtuoso you're using (see the forum guidelines - the topmost post in each forum).

I suspect you're using a range of sub-versions of IC6.1.7 where this error could (I think, from a quick bit of research) happen if you don't have an XCELIUM release in your path.

So in the UNIX terminal, check if you can run xmvlog - e.g. "which xmvlog" or "xmvlog -version". If not, please add <XCELIUMinstDir>/tools/bin into your UNIX path before starting virtuoso. If that doesn't fix it, please provide the version of the IC tools you're using (Help->About in any window will tell you this).

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the reply. I am using IC 6.1.7-64b version. I checked in the UNIX terminal the command "xmvlog". I dont think it is available. Could you please let me know how to install it? And which path I can find it ?

OK, that's only the major version number - I really wanted the complete sub-version number (including the .500.XX bit if that was there). Anyway, you've explained that xmvlog can't be found, so that's going to be the issue here.

You would need to download and install an XCELIUM release (e.g. XCELIUM2009 or XCELIUM2003) from http://downloads.cadence.com and then ensure that you have <XCELIUMinstDIr>/tools/bin in your UNIX path. Presumably you have somebody in your organisation who knows how to do that since you have IC617 installed - it's the same mechanism, but a different release stream to access the digital/mixed-signal simulators.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks. Just wanted to know is it possible to simulate verilog ams with Incisive or we need to install the XCELIUM?

Yes, you can use the old (now obsolete and unsupported) INCISIVE152 release. Do you have ncvlog in your UNIX path? (which ncvlog, ncvlog -version)

You'll need to ensure <INCISIVEinstDir>/tools/bin is in your UNIX path then. Hopefully that should resolve your issue until you can move to a supported version of the simulator (assuming you have INCISIVE installed). Note that the final INCISIVE version is INCISIVE152.

    Hi Andrew,

We have installed XCELIUM in our system. Now I am able to simulate the codes but whlie doing netlist extraction I am getting these errors.

Is there any way to remove this errors?

I don't think those errors should do any harm (I assume it proceeds despite the errors?). It would appear that the ADE view was probably created in a newer version (from IC6.1.8 ISR12 onwards) and now you're using an older IC version - is that the case?

The errors are related to fields added for Legato Reliability defect simulation, and I'm guessing you're not using that.

    Hi Andrew,

Yes, it proceeds despites the errors I just wanted to make sure that this does not cause any problem in the simulation. Thank you for your reply.
