Using wave spec for model validation

Hello everyone,

I'm using ADE Assembler (In Cadence 6.1.8 with Spectre 20) for model validation using the wave spec option. However, i have two inconveniences that maybe you can help me sort out.

1. When  changing the spec tolerances, I have to rerun the simulation to get the updated pass/fail results. Using the Full result re-elaboration does not update the wave spec pass/fail results. Is there a way to refresh this results without having to rerun the sims?

2. Is it possible to include the results of the wave spec in the spec summary? Or is there any other method to create a report of the validation?

Thanks in advance!

Please excuse my late reply, but this is not my experience with Assembler. Once I have defined the base wave to be used for comparison and the output "wave spec", any simulation performed after that produces a wave spec result. If I change the parameters of the wave spec (i.e., perhaps the tolerances or comparison time offsets), I do not need to re-do the simulation, only refresh the results. This is also consistent with the video at URL:

I was able to save the detailed output results as a comma-separated variable file which also contains the wave spec. In addition, generating a datasheet provides a summary. Did you happen to consider either of these options?

    Dear juanbaudino,

As some added information..an example of the resulting xml file (data sheet command) with waveform comparison information is shown in Figure 1. It not only contains the waveform comparison pass/fail result, but also the parameters defining the comparison (first three lines under Test column of Figure 1).

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks for your valuable information!
I will try it again using what you shared as guidelines and let you know how it works out for me.

    Thanks!
