Referance and fractional spur modeling of PLL in verilog ams

Hi,

I am using verilog ams to model a fractional N PLL. I am using virtuoso 6.1.8-64b version and XCELIUM to run the simulation. I cant run the PSS as XCELIUM does not have that option. My question is how to see the phase noise, referance spur and fractional spur of a PLL using verilog ams models.

Given that you're designing a fractional N PLL, it's unlikely you'd be able to run PSS anyway, because they are not normally periodic (or at least the period will be so long as to become untenable). PSS can only simulate over a common period where every frequency is an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency you are analysing over.

So whether it was spectre or AMS, you'd have to simulate this with transient (or transient noise if you want to look at noise).

I suggest you look at PLL Verification (Using ADE Explorer and XCELIUM)

    Andrew
