Virtuoso, Xcelium, Genus etc. none of the tools are launching, the command line shows some processing , for Virtuoso, window opens, then crashes, for Xcelium (after using xrun command) the names of some gates are shown on command line, but the gui doesnt launch. We have updated and reinstalled the tools. the license is also working fine.

Please contact customer support. My wild guess is that you're using some unsupported operating system distribution (what does "lsb_release -a" output in a terminal window)? You will also need to tell them what versions of the software you are trying to use as well as the OS distribution.

CDS.log file showed that it was looking at an incorrect IP for license file, that issue has been rectified. but there is another issue now: an error now appears saying that client is newer than vendor daemon. lmgrd's version is 11.15 while client is 11.16. is there any method to update lmgrd and cdslmd?

I would suggest you download the latest Lic+Config_Utils release (LCU) from http://downloads.cadence.com
