max usage of CPU cores in spectre/aps++ simulation

we have machine of 48 CPU cores, In case of big size circuit simulation, the %CPU is being used only 100 but last time we have used upto 700. could you please suggest settings in simulation environment so i can use to maximum available resources and reduce simulation time,

could you suggest bets way to use optimally?

BR, Tarique

You've not really given much information on what you have set up. For example, how big is your design? What does the circuit inventory show? How have you set the high performance options - have you specified the number of threads? If you are using APS, you might want to consider using Spectre X as that scales better and generally has better performance. You're unlikely to benefit from 48 cores unless the design is pretty large.

I am using Setup->High-Performance Simulation, in the form choosing APS and ++aps option  , Multi-Threding (Manual) say 16 Threads. My circuit has >1000 transistors+100 caps+50 resistors  and using transient simulation. I tried your recommendation of using Spectre X, has got slight improvement but not a factor of 4X. Do you recommend  some simulation options should I try without compromising  the accuracy ? and another query recommendation for MC simulation for best and optimal usage of resources? BR,

OK, I doubt a design that size would benefit from 16 threads (even 8 threads is probably a push).

It's very hard to answer your question without more details. The best place to go for advice would be to log a support request - use the case menu after logging in to submit a support case.

    Regards,
