SKILL routines to run Virtuoso Hierarchy Editor config updates

I'm working on a project with one top level config that calls many (6+) sub block configs, some of which are further nested. Whenever a lower level view used in the config is updated, I'd like to be able to update all relevant parent configs through a SKILL script. Clicking the "update" or "save" gui button requires me to monitor each config's update progress which can be painful since this process takes a while to run on multiple configs. Additionally, it looks like all these configs can be updated in series only (no concurrent config updates possible). I tried to find a SKILL API for this but the closest I found was hdbSave or hdbClose which operate on the object of the hdbOpen function. But, while this runs, it doesn't seem to update the actual config itself - so not sure what's happening.

Any suggestions?
