analogLib in cadence 6.1.5 (LNA simulation)

 Hello,

 I was looking for some help. I am a graduate student who is looking to perform some s parameter analysis on a LNA. The version of cadence licensed to my university (UMKC) is 6.1.5. Most tutorials have the schematic drawn with parts from the library called analogLib. My university seems to only have the NCSU CDK tools and libraries. Is it possible to do s parameter analysis using these libraries? or is there some way to add analogLib to my university's license?

I had this sort of analysis in mind.

    Hi Marouf,

     You do not need an additional license to use analogLib if you  have a license for Virtuoso IC6.1.5 and the Analog Design Environment.

    You do need to have a license to simulate spectre/aps in the Analog Design Environment.

    You didn't mention what version of MMSIM you are using.  If you are using MMSIM12.1.1, 13.1, or 13.1.1, there is a tutorial and example database that explains how to simulate an LNA with S-parameters.  Information on the various appNotes and workshops is outlined in my blog:

    Specifically, look at the SpectreRF Design Workshops, the section on LNAs.    The database is here:

    <MMSIM12.1.1 or MMSIM13.1>/tools/spectre/examples/SpectreRF_workshop/RF_Doc_Database.tar.gz

    The analogLib library is located in the IC6.1.5/IC6.1.6 hierarchy:  <path_to_IC616_hierarchy>/lnx86/tools.lnx86/dfII/etc/cdslib/artist/analogLib
