How to save PSP analyses result into an sNp file?

I have found no way to save the S-parameters of a PSP analysis directly. In ViVA we can not really plot a complex waveform, since we have only two dimensions, so exporting a trace will not work. I think that is why the SP analyses had an option for output file. Unfortunately PSP does not have this. Opening the Results browser and selecting export for S11, I got the very same dialog as for exporting a trace, i.e. no Snp file.

I have a circuit, which has a periodic behaviour and I want to compare my simulation data with the measurement one. It would be much more easier to compare two sNp files.

PS: of course I could export the magnitude and the phase into a vcsv file and write a program which converts it into S parameter and then dump it into sNp file. I am looking for a ready to use solution. There must be such an option, I just don't find it.

This is supported if using SPECTRE16.1 ISR3 or later (I think that was it), and the environment supports it from IC617 ISR11 onwards. There's now a "file" parameter on the options form for psp and hbsp:

Which sub-version of the IC tools (Help->About in the CIW) are you using? Which spectre sub-version (this will be at the top of the simulator log file)?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

I am using ICADV 12.2 and spectre 15.1 currently. Sorry, I forgot to write it in the post. I guess I have to wait for tool upgrade to use that. It is good to know that this feature has been implemented.

    Best regards,
    Zoltan

    Hi Zoltan,

OK - so you're not too far away from a supported version. If you can at least move to the newer spectre, then you could always add file="blah.s2p" (or whatever you want to call it) in the Additional Parameters field on the psp options form. You could do that without changing the IC version - so may be less disruptive to your flow.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.
