Can't open BOM file with Excel

Hi,

I am using OrCad 16.6 and I have a problem with it. When I try to generate BOM file one of important options is not active. As it is in below picture you see that I can't choose "Open in Excel" option.

I would appreciate any help,

Hossein

You should have MS Excel installed on your PC to have this check box enabled.

I had the same issue and solved it by UNchecking the box at the bottom of the menu called "View output" . It seems only one of the two boxes can be selected at one time.

    Hi,

I still have problems opening my BOM file with Excel. However, I have it installed on my PC. When I try to create my report in Capture, I see that this option is not active. See below picture:

Check out the past posts on this, you can either "View Output" and open the BOM in the application associated with the BOM file extension OR "Open in Excel", if you uncheck the "View Output" option the "Open in Excel" option will activate.
