Grid spacing in schematic part editor

Hi,

I am trying to create a part in OrCAD Capture 17.2, i want to change the grid spacing of the schematic part editor page. I tried to change the grid spacing in "options>>preferences>>grids", it works only with the schematic page. But the part editor page grids remains unchanged. Is there any way i can change the grid spacing while i am creating a library part.

Kindly let me know if it can be done.

Regards,

Chadga

Nope. It has a fixed grid spacing.

In thinking about this it is probably because when you place a symbol on the schematic you would want it's pins to land on the grid so that they could be wired up.

In the schematic part editor there is a snap to grid option on the tool bar. This is useful if you need to move things like pin numbers and pin names around as you
    are creating symbols.

Thank you for the quick reply Paul. Now I understood why it isn't allowed

Suggested feature: Continue limiting pin placement to the large grid size, but allow lines, circles, etc to use a finer grid.  I'm trying to make an RNET that looks right, but is small enough to mesh with busses on the schematic page.

Just place the pins on grid then turn the grids off for fine detail like you want.  You don't have to use grids for graphic objects
