Linking a part from library to CIS database

I'm trying to create a new database at Orcad CIS for components I've already created, which are located in different olb files (i.e - capacitors.olb, diodes.olb etc).

The database tables of each part type (capacitors, diodes etc) are ready with all the usual properties (description, footprint, manufacturer etc), and the table are already filled with the components that I had manually

inserted.

My question - how do I make the link between each row in the database to the physical part in its olb part (symbol, specific PN etc.)?

Here's an example from our Capacitor database. When you set up your mapping file you will need to point to the entry for SYMBOL and PCB_FOOTPRINT.  This is part of the walk-thru wizard....  That is all that CIS really needs and then it links your other key properties that you select back to the part.  Needs to be unique such that CIS can find the part.  Value is a property it will use but PART_NUM is too if I remember correctly

    PART_NUM Type Value Dielectric Voltage_Rating Tolerance Package Footprint Symbol Description Manufacturer Man_PN Man2 Man2PN Man3 Man3PN Cost ACTIVEPART_ID ESR Ripple Datasheet_URL

thanks, but how does the software know where is the physical location of the library in the disk? is it needed to write an address anywhere?

For sure that's stored in the CAPTURE.INI file that's in the install path.  All of that should be in the install documentation...
