Power pins reported in DRC as output?

I have a schematic (handed to me) that is reporting most (if not all) GND net pins as a DRC error:

Error(ORCAP-1628)
ERROR(ORCAP-1628): Possible pin type conflict
X2,GND Power Connected to Output

Every one of these instances is a standard GND symbol from the Orcad library connected to a ground pin on an IC...and in every case the pin direction is set to POWER, not OUTPUT.

Why is the DRC tool identifying pins clearly set to POWER as OUTPUT pins?

There will be a Pin with Type Output "somewhere" on the Net(s) in the design. You will need to check all of the connections. Starting with the X2 connections would probably be the way to go since it's more likely the X2 would have an output than GND would. You can use Edit>Browse>Nets, or Signals, to trace the connections.

That sounds horrifically time-consuming...but I don't see any other way to narrow down where the output pin is.

Yes, it is a little but, you could start a new design and copy the pages in, one at a time, from the design, then check and see which page flags the error. The issue is unlikely to be related to hierarchy for a global power net, so just the pages will work.

There will be a DRC marker on the component with a possible pin-type conflict. Select the component and go to the edit part. You could check the pin types of each pin there to get the issue resolved
