NetGroup random behavior

I'm struggling to connect signals to a NetGroup I've created. It feels like the behavior of Capture is totally random. This is what I do:

Right click a wire or a pin -> Connect to Bus -> Click on the NetGroup

All sorts of things seem to happen. Single click works sometimes, but you never know in what direction the Bus Entry will connect. Sometimes the net name is not added and sometimes it's just plain weird...

Things are more likely to go right if I right click on a pin than on a wire and then chose Connect to Bus. But what are the rules here? And what is the correct procedure to avoid things like above?

Ok, still struggling with this. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. And there's no obvious reason why it doesn't work sometimes.

Capture Session Log says: ERROR(ORCAP-2171): Auto Connection Failed between ( 3.700000,3.300000 ) and (4.700000,3.300000 )

Will it work if I do everything manually? That is, manually placing net aliases and place bus entries?
