I don't see the Allegro PCB Design CIS L suite when opening Orcad Capture

When I try to open Capture, I don't see the Allegro PCB Design CIS L option. I cannot open Capture using this choice. The other suite options are always checked out.

We are using a server based license.

The software reseller has not solved our issue.

Here's what other users see as choices when opening Capture:

Here's what I see:

I cannot open Capture using the Allegro feature. I have to have someone else create netlist files for me.

We are using version 17.2 S070

Any help would be appreciated.

    Well, I am probably wrong.

The launch shortcut I use for Allegro CIS points to this directory:  C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Cadence PCB 17.4-2019

and that shortcut points to this:  C:\Cadence\SPB_17.4\tools\bin\Capture.exe

One CaptureCIS.  I'm sorry.  Should have checked first.

So, have you used 'lmstat -a' to see if the Allegro CIS L license token hasn't expired on your server?

You may not have the Globetrotter/Flexera/Revenera license utilities installed on your client machine.

No problem, I appreciate the help.

We have eight users, I'm the only one with this issue.

I suspect it may be a software installation problem.

A longshot is license admins can add an "options" file on the license server that forbids specific tokens by username. My solution for engineers with egos checking out licenses they don't need (Don't know how to use the high-speed option or run DRCs? Checked it out anyway.)   Screen locks in five minutes then they go home for the day.

Orcad suite users would not be able to inadvertently check out what might be your single Allegro CIS license token.   They would have to stick with the suite tools.

I suspect it's not showing up in your switch-tools menu if a token isn't available.

If you are specifically facing this issue then either CDS_LIC_FILE is not set correctly or someone is using Allegro CIS license. You can ask all your colleagues to close the schematics and launch on your PC & check.
