bring CIS components to OrCad capture, error ORCAP-2396

Hi,

Can't import components from CIS Explorer to OrCad SCH capture. I have tried to Import the same component several times and get the same error.

Please see below the error message:

ERROR(ORCIS-6184): The selected component cannot be placed on the schematic. Refer to Session Log to resolve the error
ERROR(ORCAP-2396): The selected component, 'FID_0050', cannot be placed on the schematic as the schematic page is not active. Launch CIS Explorer from the schematic page, and try to place the component again. In case this problem persists, contact Cadence Customer Support with the steps resulting in the error.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thx,

    Hello Yishai,

As the error suggests you have not invoked CIS Explorer window from an active schematic page. Try below steps

Open your design -> open a schematic page, click anywhere on the schematic canvas and then invoke CIS explorer and try to place the component.

    Hi Ayush,

    Thank you,

Your suggestion above solves the problem. I have succeeded in importing the component through CSI.

It's strange because I have opened only one page previously to the issue and routed some NETs through the SCH. In this case, the SCH page needs to be active, I'm right?
If so, and if I'm right, it's strange that I got those errors.

    Thank you again,

    Yishai,

It might have happened that just before invoking CIS Explorer you might have clicked on any other branch in CIS Explorer and in that case this error came up
