OrCAD PDF Export Garbled Code

Hey Guys,

When using OrCAD PDF Export with both Acrobat Distiller and Ghostscript 64-bit (with default convert argument), I can successfully generate PDF files.

However, when I select any character (e.g., Text, Reference, Value, or Alias) and copy them, I receive garbled code. (e.g., copy 'R47' get '!')

Additionally, I am unable to search for specific parts by reference in the PDF (e.g., searching for "R47" yields no results).

Can someone tell me how to fix it?

Hope to receive a response.

Best regard.

Which hotfix of the tool you are using? Go to main menu Help > About and check.

Also, you are copying R47 from smart PDF and where are you pasting it?

Are you facing this issue on all of your designs or Is it design specific?

I testes it at my end on 17.4 S038 and not facing this issue. I copied reference and text present on PDF and pasted it on schematic in Capture without any issue. OS used is windows 10 - 64 bit. System language is English.

Thanks for your tips. My Windows 11 system language was Chinese, but I have changed it to English. Now, I have excellent Smart PDF output. Thanks!

I also experienced this issue. Default text type is "Univers" in our schematics. When I change the type to "Arial", I can search and find the text in the smart PDFs. This may be related to the fact, that Univers is a TrueType font and in the directory "C:\Windows\Fonts" there is a column where "Limited License" is displayed for Univers.

If I use a Postscript Driver from another company (not OrCADPS_22.1), I do not have issues with the font Univers. But actually, I do not know why this driver is working differently...
