How to see the footprint preview in CIS Explorer?

While working on a schematic, you might want to see the footprints of parts used in the design. For this, it is no longer required to open the .dra file in Allegro. You can see the footprint of the parts present in your database in the Footprint window of CIS Explorer, as shown below.

For this, go to the %HOME%\cdssetup\OrCAD_Capture\23.1.0\ location and open the Capture.ini file in any text editor.

You can specify the path of footprints under the [Allegro Footprints] section against Dir0, Dir1, and so on.

After this is done, you can see the footprint of parts from your database in CIS Explorer.

Regards,

Yugandhar.

Thanks you, yugandhar. I am looking for instructions to see the footprint preview. That's useful.
