In Win11 24H2 OS, Allegro X Capture23.1 HF006 has issues with zooming in and out

everybody,

Recently, I found that there is an issue with the zoom display of Allegro X Capture23.1 (HF005,HF006) in the Win11 24H2 operating system.

When I use the I key to zoom in, it does not zoom in at the current mouse cursor position. In addition, the mouse cursor may appear outside the drawing area.

This issue also occurs when I use the right mouse button to select or press Ctrl+mouse scroll to zoom in.

My operating system version is: Windows 11 x64 24H2 26100.1301

Have you encountered this kind of problem?

Similar symptoms occurred with OrCAD 17.2 and 17.4.
Upgraded to Windows 11, initial version was 24H2, now downgraded to Windows 10 and symptoms disappeared.

I can also report that I am having this issue. This is incredibly irritating since I'm zooming in and out of schematic pages constantly.

Interestingly enough, I am running a much older version of Capture, but had the exact same issue on a computer I purchased a week ago (Windows 11 24H2) - the zoom feature behaved exactly the same as it does in your 1st vide. My workaround was to downgrade windows to 23H2...probably not a long-term solution, but I need the software to work right now. After doing a clean load of windows 11 23H2 and installing the software, the zoom feature (specifically zoom in using the 'i' key) was back to working as normal.

After much trial and error playing around with values in the ini files, one of my co-workers found a check box (in 22.1) under View called "Grid References"  Unchecking this box and all forms of zooming are back to normal again.  This has proven true in 16.6, 17.4, 22.1 & 24.1.

    Four months ago,

when I raised this issue, I had already discovered that unchecking the "Grid Preferences" option could temporarily solve the problem,

but unfortunately, it wasn't until Microsoft fully released the 24H2 version that anyone cared about it Pensive
