How to copy part properties from one part symbol to another part symbol

Hai Community,

Lets say I have a resistor schematic symbol R1 for which I have add my customer properties into it, but lets say there is another resistor symbol R2 which has only default properties and I want to add the properties of R1 to R2, Instead of manually doing this process by going to edit properties, can I do in an automated way, like directly I want to copy the properties of R1 to R2 with few clicks.

Can anyone suggest me if it possible and how it is possible?

Regards,

Rohit Rohan

RohitRohan , Yes, it is possible using tcl scripting.

     Please try below suggestion:

    1. Create a function (proc) to dump all editable properties of a component.   Say I want to apply R1 properties to all selected resistor on the schematic. So, dump R1 properties.

    2. Create second proc to get the list of all properties dump(call first proc inside second proc) from above function(proc) and apply to all selected components on schematic.

    Hope it helps.
