Orcad X Capture: create a new symbol using TCL script

Andrey
Andrey 11 months ago

I am a new user of ORCAD. I am trying to understand how I can create a new symbol using TCL script.

I created a new design but it is still empty. The first thing I need to do is add the ASIC chip symbol(200 pins).

I have netlist in .csv format.

I can create the symbol manually but I would like to do it using TCL script.

I will be very grateful for any help.

Thanks!

There is no need to get involved in editing XML, New Part From Spreadsheet will allow values to be pasted directly into the grid. Open the CSV in Excel, or similar, check that the formatting for all fields is Text and then copy the column values from Excel into the Spreadsheet cells. You can have one, or multipile sections, specify the side and Pin Type in the grid if the source doesn't contain that information in a compatible form.
