Copying text from CIS Explorer tables

pertinax

Hi, I often find myself wanting to copy e.g., part numbers, values or similar from the CIS Explorer window. Sadly, this isn't possible. Has anyone found a workaround?

One scenario would be when trying to find the exact part on DigiKey. One would select the component in the schematic and press CTRL+D to view the component in CIS and from there copy the DigiKey partnumber into the web browser. Right now I have to manually transcribe the part number into the browser using my keyboard, this is a PITA.

Thanks!

Can you try with Ctrl + Insert key combination in CIS explorer and then try Ctrl + V to paste the data.

Let me know how it goes for you after trying this combination?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried Ctrl + Insert and this actually pasted information into the table! :-D  But I want to copy it from the table.

Note that when pasting, the information is not written to the database. So, sadly, not very helpful... :-P

Select the desired fields by holding down the Ctrl key or the Shift key or you can select entire row at once by selecting on 1 Once the fields are selected, copy them using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl +Insert. Then, navigate to the desired location and paste the copied fields using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl +V.

Now, navigate to the desired location and paste the copied fields using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl +V.
