Dropping an Identical Component into an Existing Schematic will not allow any Connection in version 23.10.006 - Very Different from all previous versions

Hi,

Interesting "problem."  I delete any component in any schematic and attempt to cut-and-paste or drag and drop the exact same component into the same part of the circuit and I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside the yellow triangle.  The component will not connect to any of the wires.  The only way I can connect this component is to place it somewhere on the schematic page and manually connect wires to the component or vice-versa, then I can move the component into the same location in the schematic as the originally deleted part.

I think this is a "safety" issue, but not sure.  If it is a safety issue, can I disable that feature?

Second question: In version 17.4 and earlier, when connecting a wire onto a component or another wire to form a junction, I used to get and see a red "dot" indicating I was making a connection.  In version 23.10.006, that does NOT happen.  Now only after the connection is made and you release the mouse does the red junction graphic appear.  Feels weird and not the greatest feeling from a usage point of view.

Thanks!

Sounds like you have toggles the "Drag selected component" icon to off. Its the icon that looks like a finger pointing upwards. If it's disabled it shows a red warning triangle. Toggle that and see if that helps.

Thanks, Steve.  Between you and Old Mouldy, I keep learning!  How about my second question?

The same option should also resolve that issue with the red dot.
