drawing text with skill function

Hi,

I have been wanting to draw some text in my mcm layout.

as far as i understand, the axlDBCreateText function will require user to allocate

a textblock for the text to be created. but I want to make the text independent of

any textblock...

i thought of converting the text to lines (after it is created) but it seems not possible,

and (correct me if i am wrong) the axlGPRDrwText can only draw the text on the forms.

anyone can help? thanks in advance =)

Allegro comes standard with a number of textblocks predefined -  you could use one of them without much fear of a user messing things up. Or set them exactly how you want them within a .ilinit file.

    hi eDave,

Is it possible to add in an attribute of "Rotation" of the text in the function?

it can be quite difficult to spin it after the text is created as it involves the selection

    of Lines.

Have you tried using the "angle" parameter?
