creaing private functions

If I split my skill code up into defun/procedures/functions these are visible and could potentially have the same name in another skill program. Is there a way to make such a defun/procedure/function private to just that one skill program?

Please adwice if you have some suggestions.

Thanks for your answer. Thats what I thought - all my programs are called ns_xxxxx - but the same defun can be used across skill programs.
