Getting Information from Component DBIDS

MGorecki
MGorecki over 11 years ago

Hello All, I am a very new "newbie" to SKILL.  I'm trying to teach myself, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a handful of "Discrete" components in my database.  I want to be able to grab them and get useful info from each one, like X and Y corrdinates, ref. des., and component name.  I have tried a number of ways to get info from the dbids, but they just return "nil"

;Creates a list of all of the "Discrete" components in  the design
 compDbidList = setof( compList axlDBGetDesign()->components (compList->class=="DISCRETE"))
 ;For each comp dbid in the list, get X, Y and comp name
 foreach( compDbid compDbidList

I have been going through the refrence docs, and looking at other code as well.

Thanks,

Mark

    Hi Mark,

    You are now in the right place!

    Try this:

    symDbidList = setof(symDbid axlDBGetDesign()->symbols symDbid ->component ->class == "DISCRETE")

    car(symDbidList) ->xy

    car(symDbidList) ->refdes
