xnets

When I import a netlist for OrCad, xnets are generated.  They show up in the constraint manager and I can't remove members or delete the xnets.

How do I prevent xnets from being generated in the 1st place.

Thx,

Phil

You can add a Comps level property (Edit - Object Properties then Comps in the Find pane) called NO_XNET_CONNECTION with a value of True which stops the xnet being created. This can also be added in the schematic.

Hi Steve, I'm having the same issue. I accidentally opened Constraint Manager and I ended up with some unintended XNETs. I'm trying to add the property NO_XNET_CONNECTION=True but I'm not sure where to add it. I'm new to Orcad and I cannot find Comps level properties or the find pane under Edit - Object Properties. You also mention adding the property to the schematic, how can I do this?

So in PCB Editor invoke the menu command Edit - Object Properties then on the right hand side are Options/Find/Visibility panes, look in the Find Pnae for Comps and enable it then select a discrete part and add the property NO_XNET_CONNECTION are stated above. In the schematic double ckick on a resistor part (which opens the property editor) and add a new property called NO_XNET_CONNECTION with a value of True. Once the netlist is generated this is transferred to the PCB and the xnets will be gone.....

Ah, I see. So the first option is to add the NO_XNET_CONNECTION property to a Comp from the PCB editor. We're contracting out the layout, I'm only doing the schematic in OrCad Capture. So then I'll add the NO_XNET_CONNECTION property in the schematic. I can place this property on any resistor? I'll give that a try.
