Shorts and DRC

How do I make a 2 pin component who's sole function is to short pin1 and pin2 together without DRCs?

I would like to make the overall outline to be small enough to fit in between the 2 pads of a 0201 resistor/capacitor.

Generally two methods.  Add a component to your schematic that shorts out the pins and place it on the board.  Or follow the guidance here for adding a "jumper" to the board while routing.

I created a smd feature with 2 vias using this method.  Solved this issue.

Also Parallel systems has a great tutorial on this topic, net shorting.  - These folks are the best!

The safest bet is to install a zero-ohm resistor in that location.

If you intend to have a short on the artwork that does not match the netlist, you should identify it as intentional on the fab drawing,

Here is a solution that fits pretty much anywhere:   https://support.cadence.com/apex/ArticleAttachmentPortal?id=a1O0V000007MqM1UAK&pageName=ArticleContent

Does it require the use of Concept?  It is pretty nifty solution, my ATE guys would love this, but the front end does look like Concept and not Capture.  Please let me know if I'm wrong on this.

    Kind Regards,
