Trimming specific shape refer to other layer shape

Hi All

there is 2 different layer shapes, the one shape is made by following the Cline of +12V net which is highlighted (red color), the other is large GND net (yellow)

I want to cut the red shape refer to the yellow shape boundary. I tried to cut using Shape Operations function, but it didn't do well that I want

that is just sample test, actual board that I design has quite complex shape (not retangle) so I need that function.

Is there any good way to solve this problem?

regard.

    Hi

I believe Shape > Edit Boundary should work for this. Invoke that command then click on the 12v shape at the top of the cut line in your picture and draw downwards, click the bottom of the cut and everything to the right of your cut line will be removed.

thank you, I think it would work only simple shape like having straigh lines, but it would be hard to apply on complex shape like elipse or circle shapes

If it is a dynamic shape, you could create a cline line seg with the appropriate clearance (DRC).  Then make the shape static and delete the cline seg.

If you need the shape to be dynamic, I would create a anti ecth before updating the dynamic shape.

I do it with Select Shape/Manual Void and create a void in the Yellow shape around the trace on the other layer.

And when working with shapes (editing), you can change the active layer once the shape is selected and change it an Etch Layer in case you have smaller grid spacings on the Etch layers.
