Null REGULAR-PAD specified when creating artwork

avant
avant over 2 years ago

On some designs, I get the warning "Null REGULAR-PAD specified for padstack SQ_P3XP3MM" and other padstacks.

What is odd is that the same footprint / pads used on another design does not give me the warnings.

I used the same artwork parameter files, and I replaced the footprint and padstacks.

I don't see any undefined or null shapes in the padstack.

Is there anything else I can look at to correct this?

    This is a surface-mount pad. I don't understand?

Try a Database Check (Tools or Check menu) and see if that reports anything.

    Nothing reported after DB check.

I get these null warnings on all of the pads in a design, but only certain designs. Some designs have no warnings.

I can still create Gerbers, but it is irritating.

Make sure that you are running the latest hotfix (17.4-2019 S036 or 22.1 S003) and see if that helps. If not. can you maybe upload a board (or a test board with this issue) so we can look a bit closer. If not you may have to send it to Cadence support or Channel Partner to investigate.
