Generating Allegro report with data from external file

Hello Cadence community,

When choosing any of the reports in Allegro PCB design -> tools -> quick reports, a separate window pops up with a report table usually containing hotlinks to relevant locations on the board.

Is there a way to go from an excel spreadsheet into an Allegro Report popup window with location hotlinks?

Please refer to image below for illustration.

P.S I have some Skill programming experience so am also open to coding suggestions.

Thanks,

David Nguyen

There is nothing "magic" about this. The PCB Editor File Viewer, File>File Viewer, will read "any" text file and turn "any" entries with a format of <space>(<number> <number>)<space>, like " (10.0 10.0) ", into links to navigate the board. The numbers are taken as database units. The default type for the File Viewer is LOG files but TXT / ALL files can be selected.
