New user and older versions of Cadence

Hello,

I'm helping install a new version of Cadence (22.1) and the current version on the machine is version 17.2. The user asked me if they'll still be able to open files created on version 17.2 on the new version 22.1. I'm new to this application and I wanted to check in case I were to have compatibility problems. I appreciate any information, thank you!

Yes, you can open 17.2 database in 22.1. I will recommend you to take a backup of 17.2 database before opening database in 22.1.

If 17.2 database is opened in 22.1 as saved then this cannot be opened in 17.2 without a "Downrev Design".

Downrev functionality is available in 22.1 (File > Export Downrev Design...)
