How do you remove soldermask from a Trace (RF Track) ?

I have an RF track, how do I remove the soldermask above that specific track so that the RF performance is not affected. To be clear I dont want to remove the soldermask from the whole board and I hope this doesnt involve some kind of complex skill code solution. I am using SPB17.2-2016.

Many thanks in advance.

the route keepout can be used if your soldermask is a shape.

I dont have the soldermask manually defined at the board level, the only soldermask layers I have are defined at the component level. Are you saying the only way is to draw soldermask shapes on top of the RF Tracks I have and then use the keepout rule ?

There is a free app available from the EMA App store that will do this for you. Check out:- Download the GraserWare ClineRouteKeepout App - OrCAD Software Apps and Extensions | EMA Store (ema-eda.com)

I would simply draw a line (on a solder mask layer) over the trace. Set the desired line width for the line/

If the RF trace has curves or is complex, copy the trace onto a blank area on the board file. Use file/export/IPF to create a plot file of the trace. This will create a line.

Use file/import/IPF. Set the current layer to a solder mask layer. After importing, you can change the line width and move the (solder mask) line to be over the trace.
