Based on these investigations we recommend users look for the dbdoctor_ui program in the OrCADX 23.1 installation folder:

    C:\Cadence\OrCADX_23.1\tools\bin

(or wherever your Cadence folder resides on your local drive.)

This ui presents with the following window:

The user selects the old brd file and presses check. The program updates the board file with this one button press. There is no need for further interaction. The old brd file has been updated and will open in the latest 23.1 viewer and editor tools.

I am running the Allegro Free Viewer 23.1.2023 P001 [9/29/2023] on windows.  I've been searching for a way to install db doctor but it doesn't exist in the tools/bin folder.  I have to believe it isn't included in the viewer.  Is there a way to update the viewer data base?

    Hello,

    I have a version 16.6 BRD-File and I need to extract the drill-coordinates but I can't open the file.

The DB Doctor ends with an error.

Please post the download links to the old free viewer.

    Thanks

It is not possible to update the database using the Free Viewer install alone. Only OrCADX  and Allegro installers come with this capability. It is possible to get  free trial versions of OrCADX to achieve this at https://www.orcad.com/orcad-free-trial or  https://shop.cadence.com/?home=true

I also would like to download the older version the free viewer to review a 16.6 version file from 2016.  What are the options without buying the complete Allegro suite?
