Hello,

I am running 23.1-2023-S001 of OrCAD and would like the DB Doctor file. Can you please email it to me?

Regards,

Based on these investigations we recommend users look for the dbdoctor_ui program in the OrCADX 23.1 installation folder:

    C:\Cadence\OrCADX_23.1\tools\bin

(or wherever your Cadence folder resides on your local drive.)

This ui presents with the following window:

The user selects the old brd file and presses check. The program updates the board file with this one button press. There is no need for further interaction. The old brd file has been updated and will open in the latest 23.1 viewer and editor tools.

    Hello,

    I have a version 16.6 BRD-File and I need to extract the drill-coordinates but I can't open the file.

The DB Doctor ends with an error.

Please post the download links to the old free viewer.

    Thanks

The older viewer is no longer available for download. Any modern version of the OrCAD or Allegro PCB Editor tools, including student license installations, come with the dbdoctor utility to uprev old designs.

Cadence now offers OnCloud versions of our system design and simulation tools. A sample of these is shown in the image below. Tools such as PCB Editor can now operate on any hardware, removing the requirement to maintain infrastructure hardware. There are free trials for all tools which is an option to process your files.

Hi Nianjan, but are those pad files available in the padpath folder? If not available in the design database already you will need those pad files exported and present in the relevant folder. Hope this helps

    Hi John,

They are in the same directory. Surprisingly when asked the vendor to provide with Version 17.2 or later version those I was able to upgrade to 23.1.

    Thanks,

    Nilanjan
