Allegro Design 17.4 After revising pad stack, what is preventing me from updating the pad stack in the design?

Symbols are not locked or fixed.

I cannot update revised pad stack in design. I have to save the pad stack, then perform a pad stack replace function in the design.

To clarify, I am asking about using the padstack editor to edit a padstack in a design, and then updating the design from the padstack editor.

I am creating Gerbers from JEDEC designs that have undefined flash symbols. I don't want to extract all of the padstacks and I don't want our libraries polluted with these padstacks, and I don't want to waste a lot of time doing this. This function has always worked in previous versions, but not in 17.4. I'm trying to figure out why.

I am on 17.2 - To do this I go to tools -> Padstack -> Modify Design Padstack.  Then chose the padstack to modify.  Edit it.  This will update all instances of that padstack in the current design and not the library.  I hope this helps

It has always worked that way. After editing, select "update to design" within the editor. This does not work on the 17.4 version I have installed.

I can save the edited padstack, close the padstack editor, and then replace the padstack on the board. At the end of the day, these extra steps add cost.

Hello avant, it might be design specific issue. Run the Database Check on the board. I can have a further look into it if you can share the design and pad!!
