hello

i have a shape with a void.

is there a way to convert a void on a shape into a shape on route keepout?

the converted shape on route keepout should be the same shape of the void.

regards

Allegro PCB Editor will not allow you to copy one void from one shape to another shape.

    Workaround:

Create a route keepout (RKO) for the void and copy the RKO to other areas/shapes.

    To do this:

    1. Select Shape > Decompose Shape and select the shape with the void that you would like to copy. This will create a set of lines on the class/subclass that includes both the shape outline and the void outline

    2. Turn off all layers except the Drawing Format/Construction class/subclass for easier viewing.

    3. Select Shape > Compose Shape. Under the Options tab change the Active class/subclass to Route Keepout/Subclass Layer X where you want the keepout. Select all lines of the void outline that you want to copy, either one at a time or by drawing a window around them.

    4. This will create a Route Keepout shape that will void etch on the specified class/subclass and can be copied to other shapes and subclasses using Edit > Change.

Another option is to use Edit > Z-Copy to convert the existing Static Shape to Dynamic while preserving the Net Name/Voids.

The only issue here is it will not allow it to be created on the same layer. Hence after Z-Copy is complete you need to use Edit > Change to move it back.

If Route Keepouts are needed. Define another static shape on top of the existing one and use Shape > Void Element to void the new shape to the old. This will create individual shapes in the void opening which can be copied to the Route Keepout Subclass using Z-Copy.
