PROBLEMS WITH ALLEGRA AND FOOTPRINTS ORCAD X

Hi,

I am creando a design in ORCAD X, I active the Layout in ORCAD X PCB but I try visualize the model 3D en Allegro, the components are missing in the plate, instead of them, gray cubes appear. I can read the next messages:

Symbol representation is set to: Step Model if available, else the Place_Bound Shape. Symbols without an assigned STEP Model are displayed using the Place_Bound Shape.

Creating 3D SILKSCREEN_BOTTOM with default thickness 0.5 mils because SILKSCREEN_BOTTOM is not defined in the cross section.

Creating 3D PASTEMASK_BOTTOM with default thickness 0.5 mils because PASTEMASK_BOTTOM is not defined in the cross section.

Creating 3D SOLDERMASK_BOTTOM with default thickness 0.5 mils because SOLDERMASK_BOTTOM is not defined in the cross section.

Creating 3D SOLDERMASK_TOP with default thickness 0.5 mils because SOLDERMASK_TOP is not defined in the cross section.

Creating 3D PASTEMASK_TOP with default thickness 0.5 mils because PASTEMASK_TOP is not defined in the cross section.

Creating 3D SILKSCREEN_TOP with default thickness 0.5 mils because SILKSCREEN_TOP is not defined in the cross section.

Thank You for you help.

Hi Lamco, this looks like you do not have any step model files for this design. The step models are typically stored in a seperate folder. Can you locate these?

(files with extension ".stp" or ".step").

For your information, full board level 3D step mapping functionality is coming soon in OrCAD X 24.1. For this, you will need to ensure that you have step files available in order to map a 3D model to each component.
