converting pins to vias

masamasa
masamasa 10 months ago

hello

i have completed a design with a symbol that has pins.

our customer is now asking me to change the pins that are attached to the symbol to vias which are independent from the symbol.

i have 30k pins on the symbol so i would like to find some easy way to do this.

regards

masa

    Hi Masa,

The actual symbol has to have pins otherwise there is no net info. I think the best you can do is to change the physical padstack associated with each pin so
it is of similar size to a via.

    Best Regards.

    thank u for ur response.

removing pins from a symbol is no problem.

the problem is to place vias at the same locations wherre the pins were.

i found a way to do this.

    1. export a pin layer as a dxf file

    2. import it back to the design

    3. convert lins to shapes and shapes to vias.

    regards

    masa

    Hi Masa!

It's working on Allegro 17.4. I think you're opening the APD license,

or you should comment out lines 5 and 6, then try again
