How can I assign a net to an etch arc in Cadence Allegro 17.4?

I'm working in Allegro 17.4 and need to assign a net to circular etch arcs. In Altium, this is simple, but I can't find a way to do it in Allegro. I tried starting the arc from copper with the desired net, but it didn’t inherit it. How can I assign a net to an existing arc, or how are nets assigned to etch arcs in Allegro?

Have you tried creating the arc as part of a cline by using 'add connect' with the Line lock Options value from 'Line' to 'Arc', then route from a pin or via?
