SO202503141427

In the design object find filter, I would like to enable only "pins". Then when I select a pin, I would like the associated net to be highlighted.

I can approximate this by enabling both "pins" and "nets" in the find filter - but then I also can select nets that are routed under or near the pin (and I am trying to avoid those).

Hi SO202503141427 . I would suggest (not enabling both pins and nets in the find filter but) to use a combination of the "Find by Name" (say to search for the net name) and the find filter set to Pins only.

Alternatively, you can also write a custom script in SKILL that takes a selected pin's dbid, extracts its net name and selects all pins belonging to this net.

the attached zip file contains a simple skill script for highlighting a net by the pin ( as a ref.pin or by pick )

    entries from the journal file:

    skill 'load "hilite_by_pin.il"'

    hilite_by_pin

    hilite_by_pin J1.4

    hilite_by_pin.zip
