Spacing Rounding Error in OrCAD X PCB 24?

Hi,

I recently installed HOTFIX 006 and noticed that there is a 0.0002mm error in the clearance between two overlapping shapes when the spacing is set to 0.3mm.

I'm not sure if this has always been present, I don't have an older version installed anywhere at the moment to check.

I know this is a small error, but it throws me off when I am trying to double check the alignment of things on the board.

Has anyone seen this error on version 24 prior to HOTFIX 006?

    It looks like you are measuring between two grid points, not the shapes.

    A four-place millimeter dimension on a PCB is very, very small. We use three-place accuracy (0.001mm).

    It might look like I snapped to grid points, but it is snapped to the segment intersections.

    This better represents the issue, this is two 1mm x 1mm shapes side by side with the element inspection window showing the adjusted shape.

    As you can see, the adjust size starts at 1.3002 and not 1.3.

    Tha tool add a small space to avoid drc by default. You can modify this behavior:

    Setup->User Prefenrencs->Unsupported

    Here check "void_auto_oversize" (if you let mouse on the text you will get an explanation of the reason of this behavior)

    When this variable is set, you will get additional parameter for shape in order to modifi or supress this oversize
