3D Model doesn't Get Exported with Footprint Library

Howdy,

I have an OrCAD design from another company that didn't include the footprint, padstack, and step model files. I can export the footprints and padstacks using Export->More->Libraries , but the 3D model doesn't get exported. Is there a good way to get all the 3D models from the old design so that I can reuse them?

Can they provide you a Step assembly for this board?  This is a quick way to share step parts for a project.

Open the step assembly in Solidworks or equiv to isolate each part and export it as a step.

In Allegro, look for symbol properties:

    PKGDEF_STEP_TRANSFORMATION, and PKGDEF_STEP_FILE

This is the mechanism that links step files to the part.

This may be the best way to do it. Hard to believe the stored graphical representation isn't passed along. Guess I should be used to dissapointment with Cadence products by now anyways haha.
