Extracting and Assigning User Defined Properties

I'm replacing wirebonds in a desgn.  I'm selecting them and getting their basic properties (width, layer, etc...), but these objects also have some user defined properties that I would like to get and assign to the new object that's replacing it. 
Could someone help me out with getting the user variables (I have had some luck with properties=Selected_object->prop->?).  It will give me a list, but I need to know how to assign these variables to another object that gets created.

    You'll be wanting to use

    [b]axlDBGetProperties[/b]
    as in the following snippet


    proplist=axlDBGetProperties(obj_db)
    ;then to do stuff with wich individual prop/val pair
    foreach(prop proplist
        keyy=symbolToString(car(prop))
        vall = cadr(prop)
    );end-foreach
