Extracting and Assigning User Defined Properties

archive
archive over 18 years ago

I'm replacing wirebonds in a desgn.  I'm selecting them and getting their basic properties (width, layer, etc...), but these objects also have some user defined properties that I would like to get and assign to the new object that's replacing it.
Could someone help me out with getting the user variables (I have had some luck with properties=Selected_object->prop->?).  It will give me a list, but I need to know how to assign these variables to another object that gets created.

Thanks,
Mark

    Hi Chris,
Thanks for the code it really helps. I was also wondering if you could show me how to assign these values to a newly created object in the database. If I were to create a new cline, how would I assign the keyy and vall variables to the new cline?

    Thanks,
    Mark
