axlPolyFromDB, "line" objects and 15.x

archive
archive over 18 years ago

Greetings,

The documentation states that axlPolyFromDB will work with "path", "line" and "arc" objects, amongst others.

Under 15.2 I can successfully obtain a poly from a cline/"path" object BUT cannot obtain a poly from a clineseg/"line" object.

Try the following:
capture a CLINE, name it cline_db
capture a CLINESEG from CLINE, name it clineseg_db
cline_poly = car( axlPolyFromDB( cline_db))  ; works for me
clineseg_poly = car( axlPolyFromDB( clineseg_db)) ; does NOT work for me

Can anyone verify this behavior?

I'm whipping up a report that will detect etch that gets too close to pins.

Thanks and have a great Friday,

Chris Walters

PS - anyone know of a position for a(nother) Cadence guru?

    Works OK in 16.0. I vaguely remember problems in 15.2 that I raised several SRs for. Have you got the latest ISR?
    Cheers, Dave
