Making skill form and logic for IDX transfer.

Hey Everybody , I am working with the IDX MCADECAD collaboration and I have finally given up using it . In the end this tool is completely unacceptable for use with Siemens NX . Reasons being there is poor recognition on when files are read and accepted back and forth and the units that Siemens use is in inches which allegro then treats as mils .

The only way I see to remedy this is to rebuild the form in allegro and build in custom logic . The problem I have is that I cant find a skill routine that allows for immediate IDX import and export . Its kind of funny because if you type in skill idx it completes like there is some functions there .

what I want as a skill function is IDX_IN <argument with file path> but it doesnt exist . Can anybody dig something up on this and or test it so see if it works.

    I like Unigraphics/NX.   

    But, the shortest path to using IDX is to deploy SolidWorks because of EMA's CADSync SolidWorks/Allegro plugin.

    Thank you for the video , it shows how the software is supposed to work . I think what I am  going to do is put in a background process that modified the IDX files at some refresh rate . Really the only files that dont work right are the incremental changes exported from NX. All the units need to be moved 3 decimal places . The other issue is NX keeps making a new IDX file at each increment and Allegro continues to use the oldest file . I will tackle this by destroying all old files automatically . 

    As long as I can fake a solution it will work . I will report when I am done incase anyone else is trying to get this to mesh with NX .

    Oh, never mind.   Glad you are able to resolve the problem through updates to the IDX files.
