Unable to create a void within Dynamic Shape

I have an existing dynamic shape on etch layer and want to add a void to it.

As such I am using axlPathStart() and axlDBCreateVoid() but the issue is that I get following error because the void starting point (x value) overlaps with shape's starting point (x value).

(SPMHDB-186): Void must be within the shape.

I can add 0.001 to get around this but is there something else?

Btw, axlDBOpenShape() does not appear reliable - it gives following warning (sometimes):

*WARNING* (axlDBOpenShape): A Shape is already open.

Thanks!

Try using axlPolyOperation in this instance. I generally find that dealing with polygons is easier than working with open shapes.

axlDBOpenShape is reliable but, as it says, you can only have one shape open at a time.
