Why to use Allegro System Capture – Resolving Interface Connectivity Changes in Hierarchical Blocks

Our previous posts covered importing, editing, and creating a hierarchical block and multi-level hierarchical design in System Capture. This post is about resolving the interface connectivity changes in a hierarchical design.

During a design cycle, the schematic undergoes many connectivity changes. When there are addition or deletion of interface ports in the underlying schematic of a hierarchical block, these changes need to be reflected in the block symbol as well.

System Capture automatically prompts the designer when there are such interface port changes as shown below:

Clicking the Resolve button updates the hierarchical block with the latest interface connectivity changes.
