Allegro Extract SYM_NAME

Hi,

I am  trying to extract from Allegro the component pictures. I am extracting the SYM_NAME, but I wonder if this name is unique across all symbols. In other words, if 2 components are refering to the same symbol name, does it mean they have the same picture? or each component has his own symbol?

thanks a lot.

It looks like "SYM_NAME" in the extract is the same as "Symbol Name" in "Show Element" and "COMP_PACKAGE" in the Component Report, (Tools>Quick Reports>Component Report)

Where components in the board have the same symbol, "SYM_NAME" has the same value, for example, in the board, there are four SOIC14's and SYM_NAME gets extracted as SOIC14 for these four items.
