Allegro Extract SYM_NAME

Hi,

I am  trying to extract from Allegro the component pictures. I am extracting the SYM_NAME, but I wonder if this name is unique across all symbols. In other words, if 2 components are refering to the same symbol name, does it mean they have the same picture? or each component has his own symbol?

  • The SYM_NAME is the name of the symbol, so you could have many components that reference the same SYM_NAME, the "unique" property would be akin to the "refdes", as in, U1, U3, U5 could all reference SYM_NAME SOIC14. Run a Quick Report for Componnet Report to see the fields that differ and are alike.
